Chameleon
This handmade tile shows a modernistic Chameleon clinging to a branch. With the use of a stencil, the black image was applied to this tile. The patterns were bought out by de-shading with hand made brushes and drawing lines through the colour into the white clay beneath. This age old technique is called sgraffito. Professionally framed, the tile has a black mat board over the edges and has no glass. It has been fired high enough to not absorb moisture.
